As I would like to see my in search of dreams going to reach its first milestone (which I consider 8 as a one chapter), I am gathering my clues over each search.
I’m going to draw a map in this search that will help me to find my direction.
As I returned home from Australia for almost two years now, besides all the reconnection and reform of my self identity back in my home city that I left for five years, deep down I’m searching for a hidden meaning from the geographic standpoint, we don’t just appear in one place for no reason; everything has its meaning and connection.
The spirit will forever trapped in disorientation if it cannot connect with its land, and that’s how I exactly felt over two years living in an urban city. Although I did break out of my old pattern, I have had the stability to build my first ship(I take it as a metaphor for building this website), flourishing from the honey I collected from my travels. I still feel a strong urge for connection- why am I here, on this island, Taiwan?
During some precious break from an extremely busy routine, I have the opportunity to get out of the city and travel to the east of Taiwan-Taitung County, where two mountain ranges collide and meet the pacific ocean. This area has been speculated as the origin of the Austronesian peoples. This pacific island tribe has sailed over thousands of years to connect island after island through the spirit of the ocean. Standing on top of the ancestral shore, I look out at the immense ocean and imagine how the first people dreamed of sailing to the other side, I starting to put the pieces together.
There’s a part of my dreams I haven’t shared, which I think is the undiscovered area in my dreamland. When I returned to this island-Taiwan two years ago, I began to have this dream where I felt a strong urge to leave where I was and head to the “island”, at all costs. I would leave everything behind and go, and there would be someone who I knew was willing to go with me, I had this kind of dream multiple times. Also, I had another dream where I was driving my good old blue Toyota Corolla to the other side of the island, literally abandoned the car on the side of the road and returned home. My heart would sink with the feeling of leaving something important behind, urged to pick the car up.
At the start these dreams all seemed scattered all over the place, but the sense of always had my heart sinking to this unknown island starting to form itself into one place. In one dream, my friend and I crossed the bridge from the main island and reached a small mystic mountain. We drove through the windy paths which led us to the unseen side of the mountain. We found a foot path to the entrance of a glass tunnel and parked there, entered towards a dark grey end as the temperature slowly dropped, an icy cavern sits right at the end of the tunnel, massive glaciers forms all around it, we walked through the cavern with great awe as the cold air flows around us, just like time froze in a temporary forever, we were stunned by the unexpected landscape that appeared in front of us.
There’s also a very recent dream in which I had an extremely clear vision of a vast forest thriving in a mountain range, with these particular fluffy orange leaf trees looking like broccoli growing every corner of the mountain. It’s extremely bizarre and something that I have never seen or imagined in this lifetime. The vision was so vivid I would wake up feeling my mind transcended, it blurs the fine line between reality and dream, taking me to the ultimate truth of the life itself. Aren’t we here, just travel in time? human relationship with mother earth are never tangible; nothing is, when a journey becomes a memory, it all turns into parts of our dream. The dream, where everything all belongs to one.
I sat between the Pacific Ocean and the mountain range, figured it out the ocean was just a corner of my distant dreamland, looked up on my map, where the ocean pointed at, miles away, it sits the Uluru. I like to see coincidence as dots, let’s draw some lines and try to connect them.

If all of these dreams form a map only exists in another timeline; perhaps the creation timeline. I envisioned four spirits who created the earth together, each playing its role to this harmoniously choir of the Earth’s rhythm. The small rocks scattered around the land spirit became human, and we are here, to dance with the cycle.
Thinking of the possibility the places that one’s life can reach, I feel absolutely ecstatic, for what can comes next; what could be reveal in reality, is full of surprises. Just like the first dream where I reached the beautiful sea cave, there’s more and more to discover….
